Convict Cowboys: The Untold History of the Texas Prison Rodeo”

On Tuesday, October 22, at noon, via zoom, author and historian Mitchel Roth will speak about the Texas Prison Rodeo, which ran from 1931 to 1986. Over the years the rodeo not only boasted death-defying entertainment but also featured a virtual who’s who of American pop culture, with movie stars from Tom Mix to John Wayne and music legends such as Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson.
